Mo Willems’ An Elephant and Piggie BIGGIE Volume 3 from @disneybooks is now available! As fans of the series, we could not wait to read the 5 stories in this volume!!⁣

As a mom, former teacher and homeschooling parent- I love how stories in this volume are entertaining but also teaches kids problem-solving skills.⁣

My 7 yr old independent reader loves the funny dialogue between the characters as well as the pictures.⁣
⁣
Elephant and Piggie are always helping each other. I think it’s such a great way to talk about cooperation and compromise- two skills that are important in childhood and beyond.⁣

In the most simplistic terms, I feel like 2020 is a movie gone bad.. it started out like any other year but then things started going awry.. and just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse.. it does. 😂😩😭🥺⁣

I recently watched The Social Dilemma on @netflix and it’s amazing to me how something that started out as good- could be used for bad. But that’s with anything right?⁣
⁣
We live in an age where information is readily available. Many of my colleagues who have made a business out of being in social media (blogging, influencer, digital creator)rely on social media and its algorithm to benefit us.⁣
⁣
BUT with so much info out there, it’s important to know where your info is coming from. Because that’s the kind of info you will keep seeing.⁣
⁣
I used to get upset a lot more by people and the things they say and think that seemed incredibly rude or ignorant. But honestly, if someone gets their info from only one side, and are surrounded by like minded people- then that’s all that they will know.⁣

So what’s the point of this post?⁣
⁣
1️⃣ Get your info/news from more than one source. Fact check.⁣
2️⃣ VOTE⁣
3️⃣ Don’t get mad at people who have a different opinion than you- they may only be seeing/listening to one source. Have a respectful convo with them if possible.⁣
4️⃣ If they don’t listen- like it says in Matthew 10:14- dust the sand off your feet and move on..⁣

If that is true, then it’s The Never Ending Story.. 😂😂😂 (yes, there is still sand randomly in our house.)⁣⁣⁣

We’ve taken a few trips to the beach and I wanted to share with you guys more about Crystal Cove State Park.⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
🚘Parking:⁣⁣⁣
▪️Park at the Los Trancos Parking Lot⁣⁣⁣
▪️$5/hr- max of $15⁣⁣⁣
▪️You can get 3hrs validated at the Beachcomber Cafe with a $15 min purchase⁣⁣⁣
▪️An annual parking pass can be purchased for $195/yr which gives access to popular state beaches and parks run by CA State Parks⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣
🚐 A shuttle is available from the parking lot for $1.50/person. Kids 12yrs and younger are free for each paying adult⁣⁣⁣
🏃🏻‍♀️ There’s a trail from the parking lot to the beach. It’s downhill from the parking lot and includes a small tunnel.⁣⁣⁣
🚽 There are bathrooms before you head down the trail by the parking lot or down by the cottages.⁣
🏖There’s plenty of space to social distance. There’s more people by The Beachcomber Cafe but you can walk either to the left(towards the tide pools) or right with ample room to spread out.⁣⁣⁣
🦀They even have field trips options for schools and homeschool groups for a fee.⁣⁣⁣
😷Masks are required on the shuttle and when getting food at the restaurant.⁣⁣

🧜🏻‍♀️ The couple of times we went, we parked, walked down but took a shuttle back up. We also got food to go from The Beachcomber Cafe instead of paying $15 for parking.⁣⁣⁣
📚My goal was to do some painting and have school like @hellobabyboyle at the beach but A was having way too much fun burying my feet in sand, rolling in the sand, and water 😂.⁣⁣⁣

I have a love and hate relationship with the ocean. I love how peaceful, cleansing and soothing it can be but also fear its unpredictable and powerful waves. Plus- not a fan of sand 😂😂😂😬⁣

2020 has been- for lack of a better word- the worst year but as I watched A playing in the waves- she had so much joy. So much delight in something that I found fear in.⁣

Sometimes the things we fear the most can push us to be better than we ever thought we could be.⁣
⁣
Although this year hasn’t been the best.. don’t lose hope. Surround yourself with people who give you hope and not fear. ⁣
